No. I'm not back...

Journal Entry: Wed Aug 30, 2006, 4:51 PM
I had put everything in storage so I could pull those things out that I didn't have saved on this computer at my leisure. Well thanks to DA's "upgrade" (I use the term loosely) , I couldn't view any of my deviations in storage.

So... NO. I'm not back. I just moved my stuff back on display so I could retrieve it...

For those wondering why I have left, it's because DA has served it's purpose for me. It was great inspiration, but now it's burning me out... This place has gotten too big, too corporate, too.... overwhelming.

For anyone interested in keeping in touch, my email is found on my page.

Everyone, take care!

Amy

Up for a Challenge?

Journal Entry: Tue Aug 8, 2006, 5:40 PM
I never used to get spam at my Earthlink email account. In the last six months, I've been getting flooded. I get some of the strangest spam in my Earthlink mailbox.... not like the stuff I get at Hotmail. My Hotmail account gets the usual pharmacy & sex crap... with "appropriate" titles, but my Earthlink gets some... well... it almost seems like someone is trying to tell me something with all the titles.

So here's the challenge. Write a story using these lines/words from my spam emails. Post it here as a comment, or on your own page and let me know so I can see what you came up with. I will list them exactly as they appeared. Each line represents a different email. These are just from the last 3 - 4 days....

Not Cool

Journal Entry: Fri Aug 4, 2006, 1:12 PM
I live on the fringes of the ghetto in south Kansas City. I see a lot of things that I find rather humorous... Here's a tip to all wannabe gangstas and such.

There is NO WAY to look cool and/or tough in:
1. Any minivan. Even if you put undercarraige lights on it. (Yes I saw an old chrysler minivan with purple undercarriage lights... the van even had the fake wood siding).
2. A car that belches more gas and loses more fluids than Mount St Helens.
3. Any vehicle with one or more baby carseats, or the children themselves.
4. Any vehicle missing a bumper or any other body part.
5. Any vehicle that is more than one color... and it's not a factory paint job.
6. Any vehicle that has a bumper stick that says "Mom's Taxi Service", "I brake for garage sales", or any other bumper sticker that shows the car obviously belongs to your mom or grandmother.
7. Any vehicle that has a handicap license plate or mirror hanger. (I have actually seen guys doing the gangsta lean with their hat on backwards and a scowl on their face driving a cavalier with a handicap license plate.... TOO funny)
8. A car that is being driven with one or more donut tires.
9. A Ford Festiva

If I sat here long enough, I could probably think of more, but I'm running short on time at the moment. Feel free to add your own.

Mirrormask

Journal Entry: Sun Jul 30, 2006, 3:58 PM
I rented Mirrormask this weekend to watch with my daughter. I'd never heard of it before, but the movies were pretty picked over by the time we got there. It obviously was not a well known movie as it was in the new releases, but Blockbuster only carried one copy of it, and it was still there at 7:30pm on a Friday night. It looked watchable, so we got it. I'm very glad we did.

Come to find out, this movie was made by the same people that did Dark Crystal and Labrynth... both amazing movies. This one was no different. It was one of the most unusual movies I've ever seen (and I've seen Brazil, LOL). It's visual eye-candy from almost beginning to end. The storyline has a few unique twists

It's rated PG, so all but the most protected of children can watch this, but the visuals and such are enough to keep most adults watching. It's mystical, and magical, and totally whacked. I definitely recommend this one.

At the above page, click on "enter site", then click on "previews once it loads to watch the trailer.

If anyone reading this has seen this movie, I'm highly interested in seeing what you thought of it...
